A handful of destinations have tweaked their electronic authorisation requirements in the past month. Notable for Canadian travellers: the UK’s ETA fee increased to £16 (still cheap, still required for stays under 6 months); Thailand’s new digital arrival card replaces the paper TM6 starting October 1; and the EU’s long-delayed ETIAS now has a confirmed go-live date of November 2026.
None of these are visas in the traditional sense, but missing them at check-in will cost you a boarding pass.
